Rosacea is a common, lasting inflammatory skin condition. Patients experience redness and bumps on the face, most often on the nose, cheeks and forehead.
What is it?
Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin disorder that leads to skin redness or a rash. This condition is predominantly observed in adults in their middle age or older, as well as in individuals with fair skin. Patients sometimes misidentify their rosacesa as acne, an allergic reaction, or eczema due to the similar symptoms.
Rosacea typically manifests as tiny, red, bumps on the cheeks, nose or forehead. Symptoms can also include facial swelling, dry and flaky skin, visible broken blood vessels, an enlarged nose or continuous skin redness.
Rosacea is one of the most frequently diagnosed conditions at Dermatology Partners. Our team offers expert treatment for this condition in several locations, including Avon, Sandusky, Broadview Heights, Medina, Port Clinton and Strongsville, Ohio.
How is it treated?
There is no full cure for Rosacea, but the Dermatology Partners team can help manage your symptoms – often to the point that your rosacea is barely noticeable. Treatment starts with identifying the unique triggers of your rosacea flare-ups. Knowing your triggers can help you reduce the frequency and intensity of your symptoms. We can also provide relief through treatments like topical drugs, oral antibiotics, phototherapy, and laser treatments.
