PDT combines light and a light-activated drug to treat conditions like acne, psoriasis, and skin cancer.
What is it?
Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) is used to treat acne, actinic keratosis, psoriasis, skin cancer, and vitiligo. The treatment has two-steps. First, our board-certified providers apply a light-sensitive drug, sometimes called a photosensitizing agent. Then we use a specific wavelength of light to activate the drug. This combination gives us the ability for highly targeted treatment. This means we can protect healthy skin while treating problematic areas. PDT is minimally invasive which reduces scarring risk. Our providers offer Photodynamic Therapy to patients in in Avon, Sandusky, Broadview Heights, Medina, Port Clinton, or Strongsville, Ohio
